AGM 2019

A SNAPSHOT OF THE 2019 AGM

PRESIDENT JUDI BROWN'S ADDRESS

Judi paid tribute to all those brave Service Men, of the Allied Forces, who took part in the preparation of Operation Overlord and the ensuing battles in this the week of the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. Judi recalled some harrowing accounts, which she had read, of the work undertaken by Nurses and Voluntary Aid Detachments.

Judi gave thanks to Ellen Seward for undertaking, for the second time, the role of Chairman, working tirelessly with members of the National Committee to ensure the Association keeps going. Judi highlighted that Ellen continued to give 100% to the role as Chairman, even during one of the most difficult years of her life. On behalf of the Association Judi gave a huge thank you to Ellen, wishing her good health and happiness in years to come.

CHAIRMAN'S REPORT

The Hon Chairman, Mrs Ellen Seward opened her report by recounting the wonderful day she had, at the hand-over ceremony of MIC on HMS VICTORY last year, stating there was nothing to report to top that.

Having watched the D-Day commemorations, Ellen felt even more convinced that it our responsibility to keep alive the memories of those who trod the wards, wrote the reports and doled out the bedpans before us and that we must never neglect our history.

Gratitude was expressed to all those who contribute to the running of the Association.
