The Branch Members continue to meet up at least a couple of times a year, the latest being to Clivedon National Trust Property for coffee and a walk around as suited the individuals.

No further dates set yet but maybe a tea next time in the autumn/winter. If anyone has moved or wishes to join our small friendly group, please let us know. Members are spread out around the home counties.

Seven of the Chiltern group met on a very sunny day in May at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. It was lovely to welcome Sally Owens (nee Somerville) who has joined our number. We enjoyed a good catch-up over coffee in the court yard and later enjoyed lunch in the splendid Gallery Cafe before going our separate ways. A good day was had by one and all. - Jane Morley

"Chiltern had a day out on the 11 February and we picked a dry sunny day in between two wet one!!

Most met at Waterloo, but we met two more at The Royal Hospital Chelsea, where we had coffee, lunch and a look around the Chapel, Church, Dining Hall and Museum. A lovely visit with lots of chatter!!

Some of us had a cup of tea in the Army Museum before we dispersed."

London and Chiltern Branch Day Out September 2019

On Thursday 19 September 5 of the members, and myself, met for coffee (and a long chat!) in the Festival Hall. Four of us decided we would travel down the river to Greenwich, as unfortunately Suzanne couldn't make all day. The weather was great, clear blue sky, the commentary on the boat was informative and funny and we all learnt a lot about that part of the River Thames and surrounding buildings.

Once on dry land we headed to The Old Brewery for lunch - and there we stayed!! Lunch was very good with a varied menu and, of course, we could sit outside. Time flew by and it was time to get the boat back... so it will have to be another trip to see the College!! Again a good journey back to end a very enjoyable day.
